You can run EasyRoute Plus under DOS, Vista, 2000, XP without using the vDosPlus shell.

EasyRoute Plus is a text-based legacy program that cost over a million dollars to create. It's easy, fast and there is nothing to compare to it's beauty. So, it's worth it to keep finding ways to use it in the latest Windows operating systems.

vDosPlus allows EasyRoute Plus to print PDF documents, email and fax. vDosPlus also allows powerful control over screen fonts and other very cool options.

On a Windows 7-10 system, Download vDosPlus HERE.

When you install vDosPlus, it creates a folder on your C: drive called vDosPlus.

Create a new folder under the vDosPlus folder called Genesis.

Then either install EasyRoute Plus to theGenesis folder or copy everything from your current EasyRoute Plus folder to the new Genesis folder you created under vDosPlus.

Once you have done that, copy the 2 files below into the vDosPlus folder, overwriting the existing 2 files:

autoexec.txt
config.txt

These 2 files are autoexec.txt and config.txt. The autoexec.txt file contains the commands to run EasyRoute Plus from the vDosPlus\Genesis folder. The config.txt file has instructions about screen fonts, and other settings I found to work. To run EasyRoute Plus, click on the vDosPlus icon on your desktop.
